Yes. Many banks don’t process payments on weekends or public holidays, so your transfer may take longer.
What this means
LemFi can send your transfer at any time. Many recipient banks only process payments on business days, which are Monday to Friday, not counting public holidays. This is common in countries such as India and Pakistan. For Bangladesh, banks are closed Friday and Saturdays.
If you send on a weekend, a public holiday, or late on a Friday, the recipient’s bank may not process your transfer until its next business day.
What you should do
- Check for weekends and public holidays in the recipient’s country before you send
- Check the estimated delivery time on screen before you confirm
- If the money is needed by a certain date, send it a few days early
What to expect
A transfer sent on a weekend or public holiday may arrive on the next business day. It may take longer than usual, but it hasn’t been lost and it isn’t stuck.
Next steps
If your transfer still hasn’t arrived after the next business day, contact support in the app. Have your transaction reference number ready.
