If your recipient hasn’t received the money yet, here’s how to check what’s happening and what to do next.
What this means
Your transfer moves through a few stages before it lands in your recipient’s account. Most delays happen after the transfer leaves LemFi, while your recipient’s bank or mobile money provider is processing it.
What you should do
- Open the LemFi app and go to Transactions (it's the middle button at the top right corner of the homepage)
- Select the transfer and check its status:
- In progress: the transfer is still on its way. This is normal and usually resolves within 24 hours.
- In review: We require further details before the transfer can be completed. Please check your inbox for an email from the support team.
- Completed: the money has left LemFi and been sent to your recipient’s bank. Ask your recipient to check their account again, including pending transactions, and to contact their bank if it still hasn’t shown up.
- Double-check the recipient details you entered. An incorrect account number or mobile money ID is the most common reason a completed transfer doesn’t arrive.
What to expect
Transactions are usually processed immediately and often reach your recipient’s account within 2 to 3 hours, though this varies by destination (see Transfer times by country). Delays beyond the estimate shown in the app are usually on the receiving bank’s side, not LemFi’s.
Next steps
Still not there after 24 hours? Don’t wait it out. Contact support with your transaction reference number, and we’ll trace it with the receiving bank and come back to you directly. You shouldn’t have to keep checking back without an answer.
