LemFi ensures full compliance with Chinese government regulations on international payments. Transfers to China can be sent via bank accounts, Alipay, or WeChat, with eligibility and limits strictly enforced.


Transfer Limits

To Chinese Bank Accounts or Cards:
Maximum USD 10,000 per day and USD 50,000 per year per beneficiary.
For transactions marked “Family Support," the monthly limit is USD 4,500 (~CNY 31,000)

To Alipay or WeChat Wallets:
Via Alipay: Single transfer limit CNY 50,000
Via WeChat: Single transfer limit CNY 30,000

Maximum CNY 500,000 per year per recipient. Of this, CNY 300,000 can remain in wallet balances; the rest must go to a bank/card

Each recipient can receive up to 15 transfers per month
Note: Regulatory policies may change at the discretion of the Chinese government

Beneficiary Eligibility

To bank accounts, the recipient must provide Full Name (in Mandarin), Bank Name, and National ID or FPRID number
To Alipay/WeChat, the recipient must provide Full Name (pinyin), linked Chinese mobile number, and an authorised bank card
Foreign citizens in China cannot receive funds to a bank account without a Foreigner’s Permanent Resident Identity Card (FPRID)

WeChat/Alipay accounts must be Chinese numbers.

Receiving Money via WeChat or Alipay

First-Time Users
WeChat:
Download and sign up on WeChat.
Click the text link to access the WeRemit section.
Authorize the phone number and select a bank card to receive funds.
Must authorize the card within 48 hours, or the transfer is cancelled.

Alipay:
Select Transfer → Global Remittance → Receive Money → Quick Money Collection
Choose a bank account, submit, and confirm
The transfer is valid for 72 hours if the wallet is not yet activated, after which funds return to the sender
Ongoing Use
After the first authorization, future transfers automatically deposit into the selected card; re-authorization is not required.

Transaction Guidelines

Individual-to-individual transfers only; business accounts are not supported.
Supported banks include ICBC, China Construction Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, and others.
China Merchants Bank and Ping An Bank are not supported; funds can be sent via WeChat/Alipay first.
Maximum transfer per transaction: CNY 31,000 to bank; CNY 50,000 to wallet.

Eligibility and compliance are determined by Chinese regulations.
Please make sure you have all the required beneficiary information before initiating a transfer.
Transfers exceeding limits may be blocked or returned.
