You can request money from your contacts in Kenya using the mobile money option.
What this means
Funding your KES wallet works through a mobile money request sent to a contact in Kenya, rather than a direct bank transfer.
What you should do
- Log in to the app.
- Tap the “Accounts” card.
- Select the “KES” card.
- Tap the “Request Money” button.
- Add a new recipient or search your enabled contacts.
- Fill in the required fields: first and last names, mobile money operator, and phone number.
- Review the details.
- Enter the amount and tap “Request”.
- A prompt is sent to that phone number asking the contact to authorize the payment with their PIN.
- Once it’s authorized, the money is deposited into your KES wallet, and you’ll get a notification.
Make sure the mobile money phone number is active and switched on so the prompt can be delivered.
What to expect
Most payments are processed instantly. If there’s a delay, contact support with a screenshot of the proof of debit, including the date and amount funded.
